Star Stores Logo: My first encounter with digital design was to build a logo for my high end online toy store, inspired by pop/nerd culture.
The Star Stores Product: I've built a light saber I call "Ranger," it's a culmination of three years learning CAD, electronics, and robotics. "Ranger" is equipped with an aluminum exterior, a steel spine, 3-D printed electronics holster, Nano-Biscotti sound board, and a class three laser (for the blade), witch in nerd translates to "Really Frickin awesome!" With the help of the 3-D printer I got as a gift, CAD skill i was self taught, coding with aid from my video game designer uncle, self taught electrical skills, and materials I was able to use from my robotics team, "Ranger" was born! The product will be released when I am finally able to make them mass producible, and this will make us the only business to deliver our product in 3 days as opposed to the average six months!
Star Stores Kickstarter: I was able to raise over one thousand dollars with a goal of five thousand, although I did not reach my goal, this was purely experimental, and I am proud that I was able to make it that far. I don't think many kids my age could have made it that far!
Star Stores ASPIRE competition: In 2016 we went head to head with other students and their business ideas from our school, where we would be placed in "Shark tank" situation. We were able to place 2nd in our school. (It always helps to be the team with a Lightsaber!)
RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards): I was nominated by the rotary program itself (as opposed to a counselor or teacher), for my contributions/time put into the rotary program. I was able to partake In a three day course where I was given leadership lessons and learned what it takes to be a better man. Above you can see cabin thirteen of 2017!
Golden State Ambassador: In 2017 after a rigorous interview, advocacy speech, advocacy presentation, and a talent presentation I was selected as the youngest ever Golden state ambassador (I was sixteen while the average age is nineteen) . Established by youth focus incorporated, I was granted two thousand dollars in scholarship money. I am also the first person to ever achieved that title twice.
Director Of VHS Robotics: I am the first member of robotics to ever be selected as a Director after his rookie year (where I spent A year in the mechanical department). As director of operations I oversee all business that goes on in our ROP class, Weather it be treasury, or marketing.
Hobbies: I Like to eat. I take singing lessons with Jodi Ferrell. One of my main passions is combat sports, I've been training to fight my whole life. I was a wrestler for four years. Now I go to Pu'u Muay Thai academy, and over the winter break I will be sent to Thailand to further my self defense education. I like to go on "Adventures" with my friends, witch means we travel on our bikes to see the city, and we usually find cool/weird stuff.
Skills:
CAD/3-D printing: Out of all the people in our school I was the second to receive communal 3-D printer privileges, and first to receive mastery of both CAD and 3-D printing.
Skills in conceptual design: Weather It be a toy company, or a boxing company, I am able to find what a target market wants to see, and put it on your product.
Salesman: During a school political campaign I was able to make around $200 in on lunch by selling shirts saying "Ian Ingram for Girl Up President" for $15 a pop. The trick to selling to the most apathetic group of people (being teenagers) is that the product needs to make them laugh. The fact that it was a boys name in front of a feminist club could make a mime go screaming, and that is the kind of humor that teens love, and will drain their wallets for.
Public Speaker: I’ve spoken in front of thousand of people on many different occasions. This is me giving a speech about Star Stores, during this years ambassador competition. (cropped for time)
